You can find thousands of lists of the most popular Youtube videos on the Internet. And what about the most disliked ones? For example, do you know, what is the most disliked Youtube video? When I first searched for some information about it, I was ready to see something disgusting and stupid. How surprised was I to see the real list! And so I give you TOP 10 most disliked videos on Youtube.
Top Ten Most Disliked Youtube Videos Ever
Justin Bieber - "Baby"
Yes, Justin Bieber is a pretty famous singer now. But the start of his career was not so nice. His Baby music clip is the most hated video on Youtube for now. The clip was made in 2010 and began collecting dislikes right away. Even the director, who was working with Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Cheryl Cole, couldn't help.
Ludacris, who also was involved in making the video, told that this was supposed to be a modern version of Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel". According to Justin himself, it is a story about him trying to impress a girl that is playing hard to get. Well, that's a very strong plot (sarcasm sign), but what do you want from a 16-year old boy?!
In 2010 the Baby clip became the most viewed in the history of Youtube, till Psy gained the first place with his Gangnam Style in 2012. Today Justin Bieber's video has the 18th place on the list. But it still is the most disliked Youtube video ever.
Why did people hate it that much? Hard to say. Personally, I don't like such primitive scenarios. Besides, I think Justin's girl looks much older than he does"...
Official Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Reveal Trailer
And the second place goes to a Call of Duty trailer. In this case, the problem was not with the video itself, but with the game. Apparently, the fans didn't like it because of the futuristic orientation. Still, according to the comments, the negative feedbacks had sometimes an opposite effect. Many people who watched the trailer, decided to try the game and to see if it's really that bad. And what do you know, a lot of them really liked it.
Well, it's a matter of tastes: somebody likes classics, and someone -cosmic adventures. So the second place is not completely fair. But the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Reveal Trailer is the second most liked among COD trailers.
PewDiePie “Can This Video Get 1 Million Dislikes”
The third place in our list of most unliked youtube videos. And again, not so fair. As you can see from the name of the video, its main goal was to gain dislikes. And the more, the better. It was made by Felix Kjellberg – Swedish gamer, comedian, video blogger and producer known as PewDiePie. His channel is one of the most popular on Youtube, so he can afford that number of dislikes. Moreover, he provoked his followers to click the "thumb down" on purpose. But he still can't outmatch the leader of the list. Well, the time will tell: he published his video only in 2016. And it has already exceeded the main goal – 1 million dislikes. The next one is 10 million.
Rebecca Black - "Friday"
For the first time, I saw this clip when I was writing this article. And I must say, I'm not surprised that this one is on the worst rated Youtube videos list.
Maybe no one would notice it if it wasn't for the comedian Michael J. Nelson, who shared it on Twitter saying "Songwriting Isn't for Everyone". In few month more than 166 million people watched the clip, making it the 20th most viewed video on Youtube. But the reaction was really negative.
It's true, the clip and the song are terrible, but I think people responded too rude. I mean there are so many bad music videos and not only those on this list"... Besides the constructive criticism, there were a lot of comments with an outright insult. But Rebecca ignored them and refused to take the video down from Youtube. She said she won't give her haters that kind of satisfaction. Well, that's pretty cool for a young girl. But still, she has to work a lot to achieve something more.
Aruan Felix “Cortando o Botão do YouTube”
Unfortunately, I don't know the language, so, please, correct me if I'm wrong. I can assume, that we see a guy here who destroys the Youtube button. Apparently, this blogger got it from Youtube for gaining 100K followers. And instead of being happy about it, he decided to wipe it out in a very weird way.
I must say, I don't follow this guy and I don't understand him, but the video looks really boring. Besides I had a feeling that he behaves a bit unrespectful. And I'm not saying about Youtube representatives, but about the people who subscribed to his channel. Still, it's only my opinion. Maybe if I knew what he was talking about during the video it would explain something.
Psy - “Gangnam Style”
Are there any people who haven't heard about Psy? The Gangnam Style video made him famous and got him the 6th place on the most hated youtube videos list. I don't know if I should say something more about this clip.
Maybe not all of you know, that the song is dedicated to one of the most populated districts of Seoul, making fun of its enormous prices and glamorous way of life that is popular here. And despite this video is on Youtube most disliked videos list, it was also the first to gain 1 billion views. So the dislike achievement looks not so impressing.
I would also like to mention the moves. It's like a Korean version of Michael Jackson, only funnier"... and easier to repeat.
Jacob Sartorius - "Sweatshirt"
Kids again. Oh, please, can somebody stop them from making music clips till some conscious age?! I don't know if it's the modern trends that influence them that bad, or the adults who help them create such a low-grade product"... But we have what we have.
No, I don't mind the boy. With the professional help, he can achieve some success with an appropriate audience (teenage girls). But I must admit, it's pretty weird to hear from a 14-year old macho that kind of song. I mean, he probably doesn't even know what to do with girls, unless to offer them his sweatshirt"... I'm not even surprised that on AllMusic website the song has the rating 0.5 out of 5. Besides, the singer in the video looks a bit clumsy and again younger than his dream girl. Maybe it's because this role doesn't match his age.
Miley Cyrus - "Wrecking Ball"
The 8th place on our dislikes list. Even those people, who really liked the song, agree that the clip is weird. Firstly, the naked girl on the wrecking ball – this symbol is really too hard to understand (if there's any symbolism at all). Second, why is she licking the hammer?
Do you remember the sweet girl from Hanna Montana Show? What happened to her? I mean, if she wanted to change her image, she's gone a bit too far.
And did you know, that some scenes from this clip were inspired by Sinéad O'Connor's “Nothing Compares 2 U"? Yeah, nice try.
Nicki Minaj - "Anaconda"
This video is one of the Youtube record holders of that time: in 24 hours it gained 19,6 million views. Nevertheless, it got a lot of negative feedbacks and a collection of really funny comments. I liked the one saying that there are no anacondas in the video. Oh no, wait, here it is, in the beginning, only for a few seconds"... Also, people actively discussed that Nicky was too close to the porn industry in this clip.
No surprise that VH1 called Anaconda video one of the sexiest in 2014. It's hard to disagree. An even though I understand that Nicki has something to boast, but the bunch of butts and naked girls in the clip – it's a bit primitive even for 2014. And the laugh, the really weird crazy laugh in the end"...
Although her butt is kind of hypnotizing"... At least she's doing twerk much better than Miley Cyrus. What do you think?
Miley Cyrus - "We Can't Stop"
The last on our list, but not in the rating. And it's Miley again. So what do we have here? Some kind of trashy party with people doing really strange things. Maybe I'm too old and just forgot how people usually have fun?
By the way, did you notice this brand promotion on the beginning? I hope she got paid for that. And why is she always demonstrating her tongue? And her twerk"... she really has to work on it if she wants to succeed, and I mean not only practicing.
The critic's thoughts were different. Someone said it was "high-spirited celebration of the freedom that young women are blessed with today to fully explore and celebrate their sexuality". As for me (and you can call me old fashioned), I think this idea could be implemented much better – think at least about Madonna.
Although this clip and the song got a lot of awards, 10th place in the list of the most disliked youtube videos means something.
