World's Longest Railway

Did you know that the world’s longest railway runs in Russia? The Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia is known to be the longest single continuous railway line on planet Earth, stretching from Moscow to Vladivostok.

With a length of around 9,289 kilometers, this monumental man-made transport trail transcends a whopping eight time zones and travels across the whole width of Asia and Europe.

It takes a week of non-stop travel to reach the other end! Covering some of the most remote and intense environmental conditions, the journey offers expansive views of the diverse landscapes - from the Ural mountains to the vast Siberian steppe.

Construction of this engineering marvel began in the late 19th century and was completed in 1916.
