The Unstoppable Voyager 2

Launched on August 20, 1977, NASA's Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to have flown by Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

It provided scientists with detailed images of these planets and their moons, revolutionizing our understanding of the spectacular outer planets of our solar system.

A fun fact is that Voyager 2 actually launched 16 days before its twin, Voyager 1, but followed a longer trajectory.

Each spacecraft carries a golden record with a message from Earth for any extraterrestrial life form that might discover it.

Voyager 2 is still operational, making it one of the longest-running space missions as it's been in space for over 43 years and counting! It is currently in interstellar space, about 11.5 billion miles away, communicating data back to us at the speed of light.

A testament to human ingenuity and curiosity, Voyager 2 continues to make history..
