The Mysteriously Teleporting Forest

The Boiling Lake in Dominica sits atop a live volcano, and it is the second largest hot spring in the world.

This unique attribute of nature lies in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a World Heritage site.

It covers an area of approximately 66,000 square feet and maintains a temperature range between 180 and 197 degrees Fahrenheit.

But what stands it out isn’t just being a hot spring, it's more about its 'teleporting' nature.

For reasons that still remain largely unexplained, the lake level keeps changing.

There have been times when it evaporated completely, only to refill again.

While the water levels often fluctify by tens of feet, the overall area is estimated to be around 76 m in diameter, with its depth undetermined.

Its continuous, heavy cloud of vapour above the surface is because of its high temperature.

The constantly roiling water appears to be in a state of vigorous boiling, hence the name.

Its water comprised of rainfall, two small streams and groundwater seepage..
